FROM THE BEGINNING

National Marine Exhaust, designers and builders of “Superior Quality Marine Exhaust Systems’, was founded in 1979 by Heinrich Hochreiter.  He was born and raised in Koflach, Austria. Heinrich began his career in Washington State working for Boeing as an engineer and with VanVetter, well known for their custom marine exhaust. When VanVetter closed it’s doors in the early 80’s Heinrich had the opportunity to purchase VanVetter’s exhaust drawings and inventory for his own newly formed, rapidly growing marine exhaust company.

Over the years, Heinrich has used and refined his expert knowledge, superb engineering and fabrication skills and has given National Marine Exhaust the well-deserved reputation of being one of the finest in marine exhaust fabrication. After 20 years in business, Heinrich decided it was time for him to pass on the tradition of quality to the next generation.

Keeping National Marine Exhaust in the family, Heinrich’s daughter, Heidi Hochreiter Conahan and her husband, Scott Conahan accepted the honor and in 1998 purchased Heinrich’s interest in the business. The tradition and reputation that Heinrich worked 20 years to build is now the cornerstone of National Marine Exhaust’s mission to continue fabricating the ‘Superior Quality Exhaust Systems’.

With over 11 years of training under the watchful eye of its founder, Scott Conahan has stepped up and has taken over the responsibility set forth by it’s tradition. He is excited to be at the helm of a solid family owned and operated company in the same location. Heinrich continues to be an active and integral behind the scene member offering his expertise in engineering and machine maintenance.

National Marine Exhaust looks forward to supplying the marine industry with

‘Superior Quality Marine Exhaust Systems’ for years to come!
